Job Description – Assistant Teacher (Early Years)

Role Summary
The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in classroom operations, child supervision, and learning activities. The role is suited for freshers or semi-experienced educators seeking structured exposure to early childhood education within a professional preschool environment.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Support
- Assist in the implementation of daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Support children during learning, play, transitions, meals, and rest times.
- Help prepare teaching materials and maintain classroom resources.
- Ensure cleanliness, order, and readiness of the classroom environment.
Child Care & Supervision
- Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being.
- Children must never be left unattended under any circumstances.
- Assist children with self-care routines such as hygiene, meals, and transitions.
- Support positive behaviour management under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
- Immediately report any safety, health, or child protection concerns to the Lead Teacher or Centre Head as per school protocols.
Documentation & Observation
- Assist in observing and recording children’s behaviour and developmental milestones.
- Help maintain attendance, daily reports, and communication diaries as required.
Collaboration & Professional Conduct
- Work closely with the Lead Teacher to ensure smooth classroom functioning.
- Follow instructions, routines, and school protocols diligently.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and school events.
- Carry out responsibilities strictly under the guidance of the Lead Teacher; no independent academic, disciplinary, or parent-related commitments may be made.
Compliance & Policies
- Adhere to child safety, hygiene, and school operational policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and school information at all times.
- Comply with all reporting, escalation, and documentation procedures defined by the school.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education / Education / Child Development (preferred).
- Freshers or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in a preschool or childcare setting may apply.
- Willingness to learn and grow in an early years educational environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a child-friendly approach.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively.
- Basic documentation and organizational skills.
Work Conditions
- Working hours as per school schedule.
- The role involves active supervision of young children, standing for extended periods, and engagement in classroom and routine care activities.

- Performance will be reviewed periodically as per school policy, including during the probation period.

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
