Assistant Technical-DAE Mechanical

We are seeking a Technical Assistant (DAE Mechanical) with 1 to 2 years of experience. This office-based role bridges the gap between our commercial sales team and our engineering operations. You will utilize your mechanical and fabrication background to analyze client inquiries, read technical drawings, and prepare accurate material and cost estimations (BOQs) for our bidding and proposal process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tender & RFQ Review: Carefully analyze client inquiries and tender documents to understand the mechanical and custom fabrication scope of fire safety projects.
  • Fabrication & Material Estimation: Interpret engineering blueprints and layouts to calculate raw material requirements (steel plates, structures, piping segments) and estimate manufacturing/welding costs.
  • Proposal Drafting: Prepare structured technical proposals, formal price quotations, and compliance sheets for submission to corporate clients.
  • Vendor Sourcing: Coordinate with local fabrication workshops and procurement vendors to secure competitive component costing.
  • Documentation Management: Gather, organize, and attach product technical data sheets and safety certificates to final bid submissions.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum DAE (Mechanical) from a recognized technical board.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in technical estimation, tendering, bill of quantities (BOQ) preparation, or technical sales support.
  • Fabrication Knowledge: Strong understanding of sheet metal work, welding processes (MIG/TIG/Arc), machining operations, and structural steel raw material properties.
  • Technical Drafting: Excellent ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, piping layouts, and fabrication symbols. Basic AutoCAD knowledge is an asset.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel for preparing cost analysis sheets and material take-offs.
  • Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and clear professional communication.
