Assistant Vice President, Revenue/Investment Accounting

Responsibilities
The Assistant Vice President – Revenue & Investment Accounting will play a critical leadership role within the Corporate Accounting function, overseeing the accounting, reporting, and governance of the firm’s General Partner revenue streams. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of revenue recognition related to management fees, incentive income, and investment income across multiple fund structures.
The AVP will provide oversight across the revenue accounting function, supervise team members responsible for operational accounting processes, and partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies while driving operational efficiency and scalability.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Revenue Accounting Oversight
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of revenue recognition, including calculation, validation, accounting, and reporting of management fees, incentive fees (carried interest), and investment income.
  • Ensure the proper accounting treatment of fee offsets, rebates, waivers, and expense recoveries in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies
  • Ensure the timely and accurate recording of revenue transactions in accordance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Review and approve key accounting schedules, reconciliations, and revenue-related journal entries prepared by the team.
  • Provide oversight of month-end and quarter-end close processes related to revenue and investment income.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue disclosures and financial reporting schedules.
  • Oversee reconciliation of non-GAAP to GAAP revenue results and investigate material variances.
  • Deliver financial analysis and commentary on key variances and financial performance
  • Present financial results and control frameworks to senior leadership including the VP, SVP, and MD.
Accounting Policy & Technical Interpretation
  • Interpret complex fee agreements and fund structures to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Partner with Legal, and Fund Accounting teams to ensure consistent application of revenue recognition principles.
  • Support development and documentation of revenue accounting policies and procedures.
Team Leadership & Oversight
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals responsible for revenue and investment accounting processes.
  • Establish clear operational workflows and ensure appropriate review and control structures across the team.
  • Drive professional development and performance management within the team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Fund Accounting, Treasury, Tax, and International Accounting teams to reconcile cash flows and ensure alignment between operational and financial reporting.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing revenue-related analysis and documentation.
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Lead initiatives to enhance automation, process standardization, and reporting capabilities across the revenue accounting function.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in Workday Financials system optimization, specifically for revenue accounting processes.
  • Drive the evolution of the Workday ERP environment, automating manual processes.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification.
  • 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within asset management, private equity, or investment banking.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and investment accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising accounting teams and managing complex financial processes.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and financial reporting skills.
  • Advance Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, ability to work with new tools
  • Experience with Workday Financials is a plus.

Education
  • A Chartered Accountant with 8+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
