Assistant Video Editor

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Video Editor with at least 1 year of experience in podcast editing. The ideal candidate must be capable of turning long-form videos into high-impact 60-second short-form reels and must be experienced in clip chopping, motion graphics, title animations, and SFX.

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit long-form podcasts into engaging short-form reels (≤ 60 seconds).
• Cut clips efficiently while maintaining storytelling flow and high retention.
• Add dynamic motion graphics, subtitles, transitions, title animations, and SFX.
• Improve audio quality with noise reduction, EQ, compression, and balancing.
• Align edits with current trends on Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok.
• Repurpose content for multiple platforms with optimized formatting.
• Ensure quality, pacing, and visual appeal match reference videos.
• Work with multi-camera and multi-audio setups.
• Collaborate with creative & production teams to meet deadlines.
• Maintain consistent branding and style across all content.

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ years of professional video editing experience.
• Strong expertise in podcast editing.
• Proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Skilled in motion graphics, dynamic subtitles, and title animations.
• Proven experience editing short-form reels with high engagement.
• Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, and attention retention.
• Good audio editing skills (mixing, mastering, SFX).
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

Bonus Skills (Highly Preferred):

• VFX / advanced visual enhancement.
• Understanding of 3–4 point lighting.
• On-set production experience.
• Familiarity with Sony a7S III or similar professional cameras.
• Basic to intermediate 2D and 3D animation skills.
