Assistant Video Editor (Part-Time) — Social Media Reels

Overview

We’re looking for a part-time Assistant Video Editor to help us create engaging social media content—especially Reels/TikToks/Shorts—using footage provided by our videographer. This role is perfect for someone who’s currently in school, building a portfolio, or working on personal creative projects and wants real-world editing experience with room to grow.

You should have basic experience in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve. We’ll teach you our style, workflows, and help you improve your editing skills over time. We’re mainly looking for someone with a good eye, strong effort, and ambition.

What You’ll Do

• Edit short-form videos (primarily Reels) from footage provided by our videographer
• Add music, sound effects, basic color correction, and simple motion graphics/text
• Create edits that match brand style and feel attention-grabbing within the first 1–3 seconds
• Follow a content brief and implement feedback quickly
• Organize project files and export videos in the correct social formats (9:16, etc.)
• Help brainstorm creative edit ideas (hooks, pacing, trends, captions)

What We’re Looking For

Required (Basics):

• Basic proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve
• Understanding of editing fundamentals: pacing, cuts, audio leveling, and storytelling
• Strong attention to detail and ability to take feedback well
• Reliable communication and ability to hit deadlines

Bonus (Not Required):

• Experience editing Reels/TikToks/Shorts
• Familiarity with captions/subtitles, trend pacing, or social-first edits
• Basic knowledge of After Effects, motion graphics, or simple animations
• Interest in marketing and social media performance

Schedule & Commitment

• Part-time (ideal for students or creators)
• Flexible scheduling, but must be able to meet agreed deadlines
