Assistant Warehouse Manager

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our logistics team. Duties

• Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
• Supervise warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high productivity and safety standards.
• Coordinate transportation planning and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and freight carriers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning), and supply chain analytics tools to monitor operations and identify areas for process improvement.
• Support procurement activities, including purchasing materials, managing inventory levels, and overseeing procurement processes using systems like AS400.
• Implement lean methodologies and continuous improvement strategies to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, forklift operation standards, and company policies related to shipping & receiving, dispatching, and warehouse distribution.
• Assist in budgeting activities related to warehouse operations while maintaining accurate records of inventory movements and supply chain transactions.
• Collaborate with production planning teams to align inventory levels with demand planning forecasts for seamless order fulfillment.
• Oversee freight management activities including NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations, transportation management systems (TMS), and fleet management.
• Assist in picking good, preparing goods for fulfillment.
• Local and regional delivery of goods.
• Loading and moving goods around warehouse with electric pallet jack and forklift.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse supervision or operations management within a logistics or supply chain environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400, and supply chain analytics tools.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), freight forwarding (including NVOCC), procurement processes, and demand planning.
• Experience with process improvement initiatives such as lean methodologies or continuous improvement programs.
• Ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Supervisory experience leading teams in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in forklift operation certification and adherence to safety standards.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to analyze data for supply chain optimization.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate across departments including purchasing, production planning, dispatching, and logistics partners. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
