Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Warehouse & Logistics is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, inventory control, transportation coordination, and ensuring efficient supply chain flow. The role ensures accurate stock management, timely dispatch, cost control, compliance with safety standards, and optimal warehouse productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily receiving, storage, and dispatch activities
- Ensure proper material handling and storage practices
- Monitor warehouse layout for space optimization
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Ensure accurate stock records (ERP/WMS systems)
- Conduct periodic stock counts and reconciliations
- Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory
- Plan and coordinate deliveries and dispatch schedules
- Liaise with transporters and freight partners
- Monitor transportation costs and optimize routes
- Ensure on-time delivery performance
- Maintain GRN, delivery notes, invoices, and shipping documents
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations
- Implement health & safety guidelines
- Supervise warehouse staff performance
- Conduct training and performance evaluations
- Allocate tasks and monitor productivity
- Promote teamwork and discipline
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly warehouse reports
- Provide recommendations for process improvements
- On-Time Delivery (OTIF)
- Order Fulfillment Accuracy
- Warehouse Productivity Rate
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
- 3–6 years of warehouse/logistics experience
- 1–3 years in supervisory role
