Assistant/Associate Dean of Accreditation and Research

The Carter School of Business (CSB) at Dallas Baptist University is presently receiving applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Dean of Accreditation and Research to start June 2026. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will provide oversight and coordination for the accreditation and research activities in the School of Business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee, coordinate, and participate in all accreditation activities for the school of business
  • Oversee and participate in the development of the strategic plan(s) for the school of business
  • Work with Program Directors and Department Chairs at both the graduate and undergraduate level to create assessment tools to measure student achievements and departmental goals
  • Work with the University Institutional Effectiveness team, Program Directors, Department Chairs, and Ad Hoc teams at both the graduate and undergraduate level to provide the required reports, documents, and data for various accrediting organizations.
  • Track the progress of the school of business toward meeting its stated goals and objectives.
  • Create effective and efficient processes for the collection and analysis of assessment data, and ensure accuracy of degree plans and catalogue information
  • Review and revise program pages on the DBU website as necessary in coordination with the Department Chairs, Program Directors, and University Communications
  • Oversee the scholarly research activities of the school of business to include conducting training, developing research plans, fostering scholarly growth, mentoring faculty, and developing and implementing a research infrastructure in the school of business
  • Teach a variety of business courses consistent with program needs and academic credentials
  • Maintain office hours, participate in faculty meetings, and serve on university committees
  • Participate in campus events including commencement, and assist in hosting business related functions and events on campus
  • Model genuine Christian faith in and beyond the classroom
  • Intentionally and explicitly integrate the Christian faith with teaching and scholarship.
  • Participate in various forms of professional development sponsored by the University and external organizations

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • This position is a full-time position with a twelve-month contract at the DBU campus in Dallas. Classes may be taught in person, online, or in a hybrid format.
  • The Assistant/Associate Dean is a teaching faculty member who teaches a reduced academic load based on administrative responsibilities and/or other duties.

This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211

Requirements:

MISSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a Christian who holds Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, and who holds that the Old Testament and the New Testament solely are sacred Scriptures.
  • Must be an active member of a local Baptist Church that holds to beliefs consistent with the statement above.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • The Assistant/Associate Dean of Accreditation and Research oversees all accreditation activities for the school of business and has primary responsibility for obtaining and maintaining the business school accreditation(s)
  • The Assistant/Associate Dean of Accreditation and Research oversees all research activities for the school of business and has primary responsibility for leading the scholarly research activities in the school of business
  • The Assistant/Associate Dean must hold a terminal degree or be in pursuit of a terminal degree in business or a related field.
  • For Teaching on the Undergraduate Level: Must have completed at least 18 graduate semester hours in a business discipline and hold at least a master's degree or hold at least a master's degree with a major in business or a related discipline.
  • For Teaching on the Graduate Level: Must hold a terminal degree, usually an earned doctorate, in business or a related discipline.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the business industry or higher education
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in handling accreditation matters
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in leading or co-leading scholarly research efforts
