Assistant/Associate Professor in Architecture

The British University of Bahrain , in collaboration with the University of Salford , is seeking an outstanding academic to join our Architecture programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to teaching, research, and industry engagement in a dynamic and supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching across modules and short programmes.
  • Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements.
  • Contribute to curriculum design and programme development.
  • Undertake impactful research and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Lead and mentor colleagues, supporting academic and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with industry, public sector, and community partners.


Person Specification

Essential:

  • First degree in Architecture and postgraduate qualification in a related subject.
  • Full professional membership of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
  • Experience teaching in Higher Education OR minimum 5 years’ professional practice.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and mentoring skills.
  • Commitment to personal and professional development.

Desirable:

  • PhD in Architecture or related field (or working towards one).
  • Registration with the Architects Registration Board (ARB).
  • Experience in programme design, funded research, and industry engagement.
