Assistant/Associate Professor of Sport Injuries

• Deliver undergraduate courses in sport injuries, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and clinical assessment within the Sport Coaching or Sport Science Department. • Develop and update course materials in accordance with international standards and best practices in sports injury management, athletic therapy, and sports medicine. • Lead practical and field-based instruction in injury assessment, functional movement screening, taping and bracing techniques, and basic rehabilitation exercises. • Supervise and mentor students in research and applied projects related to sports injuries, injury risk factors, recovery strategies, and return-to-play protocols. • Engage in applied scholarly, clinical, and professional activities related to sport injuries, rehabilitation, and athlete health, in alignment with departmental priorities. • Collaborate with local sport federations, clubs, clinics, and health institutions to support internships, clinical placements, and community engagement initiatives. • Participate actively in departmental, college, and university committees, accreditation processes, and ongoing professional development activities. Qualifications • Education: PhD in Sport Sciences, Kinesiology, or Coaching Sciences with specialization or strong background in sport injuries. • Experience: o University-level teaching experience in sport injuries, injury prevention, rehabilitation, athletic therapy, or related sport and exercise science courses; experience in the Middle East is preferred. o Demonstrated ability to deliver practical and laboratory-based instruction that integrates theoretical knowledge with real-world injury assessment, management, and return-to-play practices. o Extensive practical experience in teaching and supervising applied activities related to sports injury assessment, functional movement analysis, taping and bracing, and basic rehabilitation across a range of sport contexts. o Hands-on experience with injury screening tools, musculoskeletal assessment methods, and sport-injury evaluation technologies used in applied sport and clinical settings. o Strong applied teaching and safety competencies supported by recognized professional certifications in sports injury management, athletic training, sports therapy, physiotherapy, or related fields. o Experience in student mentoring, clinical placement supervision, and coordination with sport clubs, clinics, or health institutions to enhance experiential learning and community engagement in sport injury and athlete health contexts. • Skills: o Design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation programs to support athlete health, safety, and performance. o Conduct clinical, field, and practical assessments to evaluate injury risk, functional movement, musculoskeletal health, and readiness for return to activity. o Teach and mentor students effectively, fostering clinical reasoning, ethical practice, and applied understanding in sports injury and athlete-care contexts. o Communicate clearly and professionally in Arabic, with strong interpersonal skills for teaching, supervision, and collaboration; proficiency in Arabic is preferred. o Utilize educational technologies, digital learning platforms, and assessment tools to enhance instruction, student engagement, and learning outcomes. o Promote inclusive, student-centered learning environments that emphasize safety, professional competence, and lifelong learning in sport and exercise sciences. o Proficiency in Arabic is required; proficiency in English is an advantage.
