The <b>Advisor to the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies</b> plays a pivotal role in supporting Qatar University&rsquo;s senior leadership by providing expert scientific and strategic counsel on research and development directions&mdash;particularly within STEM disciplines.<br>
This position is central to advancing the quality, visibility, and impact of scientific research across the University, ensuring alignment with national priorities and Qatar University&rsquo;s strategic objectives.</p><p>
The Advisor contributes to shaping research policy, identifying emerging areas of excellence and national importance, and evaluating major research programs and initiatives. Through evidence-based analysis and forward-looking recommendations, the Advisor enhances the University&rsquo;s research ecosystem and supports decision-making at the executive level.</p><p>
Key functions include preparing analytical and advisory reports grounded in research data and performance indicators, promoting best practices in research management, and fostering the professional development of faculty and researchers.<br>
Success in this position requires strategic insight, extensive interdisciplinary research expertise, and the ability to influence institutional priorities to sustain and strengthen Qatar University&rsquo;s leadership in research and innovation.<br>

Key Responsibilities</b></h2><ul><li><p>
Provide expert advice on research policies and strategies to enhance scientific excellence across colleges and research centers.</p></li><li><p>
Review, assess, and advise on major research initiatives to ensure alignment with the University&rsquo;s strategic vision and objectives.</p></li><li><p>
Support the development of international research partnerships and the pursuit of competitive funding opportunities.</p></li><li><p>
Analyze global research and innovation trends to identify emerging disciplines and areas of national significance.</p></li><li><p>
Contribute to developing a long-term roadmap for research integration between Qatar University and governmental, industrial, or international partners.</p></li><li><p>
Promote research capacity building by recommending high-level training programs, mentorship initiatives, and professional development opportunities for faculty and researchers.</p></li></ul>
Qualifications
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Education &amp; Experience</b></h2><ul><li><p><b>
Ph.D.</b> in <i>Engineering, Medicine,</i> or <i>Natural Sciences</i> from a reputable and internationally recognized university.</p></li><li><p><b>
Minimum of 10 years</b> of academic and research experience, with a distinguished record of scholarly publications and supervision of graduate research projects.</p></li><li><p>
A <b>highly motivated and innovative professional</b> with a proven record of leadership and effective management within higher education or research institutions.</p></li><li><p><b>
Demonstrated experience</b> in developing research strategies, policies, or managing large-scale national or institutional research programs.</p></li><li><p><b>
Strong familiarity</b> with research analytics and bibliometric platforms such as <i>Scopus, SciVal,</i> or equivalent systems.</p></li><li><p><b>
