1. Curriculum development, Teaching and Educational Activities
- Develop and deliver the undergraduate and postgraduate didactic, practical/clinical, and research components of the orthodontic curriculum, ensuring alignment with national and international standards for advanced education in orthodontics, as well as institutional policies.
- Design and coordinate courses, including learning outcomes, syllabi, competencies, and assessment tools, in alignment with Qatar University guidelines and academic requirements
- Deliver high-quality teaching in orthodontics across pre-clinical, clinical, and didactic courses.
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including participation in case-based learning, competency assessments, OSCEs and research projects.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous enhancement of academic programs through effective course coordination, assessment design, and participation in accreditation-related activities.
- Participate in academic advising and conduct formative and summative evaluations, including remediation and progression decisions in accordance with program policies.
- Contribute to accreditation-related activities and participate in the implementation of continuous quality improvement strategies.
2. Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and ensure adherence to best evidence-based practice standards compassionately and professionally.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning, ensuring the delivery of patient-centred, evidence-based patient care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- Contribute to fostering an environment that promotes both high-quality patient care and excellent student learning.
3. Research & Scholarship
- Conduct high-quality research in orthodontics (clinical, translational, or basic science) and publish in high-impact and peer-reviewed journals.
- Secure high-impact research funding/grants.
- Supervise student research projects and contribute to collaborative, interdisciplinary research initiatives.
4. Service and Leadership
- Engage in College and University service, including committees, student advising, professional development activities and community outreach as needed.
- Support accreditation processes, quality assurance activities, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- A BDS/DDS/DMD (or equivalent) from a recognised/accredited university.
- Completion of a structured clinical specialisation in orthodontics that fulfils Qatar DHP requirements for specialist registration.

- A PhD or equivalent qualification in Orthodontics from a recognised/accredited institution (Certification in Orthodontics from a professional organisation in the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Europe or equivalent)
- A track record of excellence in teaching, research, and clinical practice appropriate to the academic rank.
- Candidates must be licensed or eligible for specialist orthodontist licensure in Qatar in accordance with MOPH/DHP requirements, including minimum postgraduate training duration and experience.
