Shift: Day: 6:00am-2:00pm

8-hour shifts with a monthly rotation

Position Summary: Performs as a member of the healthcare team under the supervision of a licensed nurse and enriches the lives of residents. Provides quality care and sustains the physical and mental well-being of our residents and their families.

Qualifications:

• Active Nursing Assistant Certification (State Tested CNA)
• Mental Health and Dementia Training.
• Active CPR Certification.
• Food Handler's Card.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represents eliseo in a professional manner by demonstrating positive public relations.
• Accepts assigned residents’ status reports at beginning of shifts and gives reports at end of shift and as appropriate.
• Performs grooming activities to include dressing, bathing, oral hygiene, hair, nail, and foot care.
• Provides personal toileting care by assisting resident with bedpan, bedside commode, and bathroom.
• Measures resident’s vital signs and weights.
• Documents activities, behaviors, interventions and care by means of electronic medical records software and use of resident Flow Sheet.
• Facilitates transfer of resident (bed to chair, chair to bed, wheelchair, etc.) and Ambulation activities (walker, cane, etc.)
• Assists with dispensing of medication and conducts count of controlled substances at beginning/end of each shift.
• Reports any incidents or changes in resident condition to Nursing Supervisor.
• Observes, records and reports resident’s condition and carries out appropriate procedures and techniques as directed by the Licensed Nurse.
• Completes various light daily housekeeping duties to include cleaning, laundry, bed linen tasks and empty garbage cans.
• Alerts family member and Licensed Nurse of any needed supplies.
• Notifies Nurse Supervisor or submits work order for needed maintenance repairs.
• Delivers social interaction and periodically assists with activities.
• Assists with serving meals and occasional meal/snack preparation.

Upon acceptance of an offer, candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, reference checks and background check prior to starting work with eliseo.

Upon first day of hire, all staff are required to provide documentation of influenza vaccination (Seasonally for Influenza). Additionally, all staff will undergo tuberculosis testing upon their first day and annually.
