Job Title: Associate Vice President, Marketing Technology and Analytics
Department: Marketing, Communications & Digital
Reports To: SVP, CMCDO
Position Summary
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Marketing Technology and Analytics provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for marketing data, technology platforms, and enterprise analytics across the University of Miami, including the academic enterprise, UHealth, and Athletics. This role is responsible for ensuring that marketing technology investments deliver measurable outcomes, that data and insights guide decision-making, and that the institution remains at the forefront of digital innovation.
The AVP oversees enterprise CRM, content management systems, marketing automation, SEO/SEM, asset management, personalization tools, and all research and analytics functions supporting marketing, communications, and branding. This leader advances the University’s reputation, enrollment, patient volume, and fan engagement through technology-enabled, insight-driven strategies.
Key Responsibilities :
Marketing Technology Strategy & Governance
Develop and execute the enterprise marketing technology roadmap, aligning platforms such as CRM, CMS, AI, marketing automation, and analytics tools to institutional priorities.
Ensure system integration across platforms (enrollment, clinical, and athletics) to enable a single view of audiences and lifecycle engagement.
Establish governance for technology adoption, data standards, and system utilization across marketing teams.
Research, Insights, and Analytics
Lead all research and analytics functions, including brand health, audience insights, campaign performance, SEO/SEM, and competitive intelligence.
Develop enterprise-wide analytics dashboards and reporting to track KPIs, ROI, and engagement.
Translate insights into actionable strategies that strengthen enrollment growth, patient acquisition, brand reputation, and athletics engagement.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making.
Digital Optimization
Direct enterprise SEO/SEM strategy to maximize visibility and performance across digital platforms.
Advance personalization, A/B testing, and optimization strategies to deepen engagement.
Oversee measurement frameworks for web, social, and digital channels, ensuring alignment with institutional KPIs.
Implement AI-driven approaches to improve efficiency, automate processes, and optimize marketing performance.
Cross-Enterprise Integration
Partner with enrollment management, clinical operations, and athletics to ensure marketing technology and analytics solutions meet institutional needs.
Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure security, compliance, and interoperability of marketing technologies.
Serve as the senior-most authority and advocate for marketing technology and analytics at the leadership table.
Team Leadership and Culture
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and service excellence.
Invest in professional growth and ensure teams stay ahead of digital trends and emerging tools.
Qualifications :
Education
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, analytics, computer science, or related field required .
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
1 0 + years of progressive leadership in marketing technology, analytics, or digital strategy within higher education, academic health care, or similarly complex organizations.
Demonstrated success deploying enterprise systems such as Salesforce, Tableau, Sitecore, Google Analytics, Adobe, or equivalent.
Proven experience leading large, cross-functional teams and managing multimillion-dollar technology portfolios.
Proven experience managing SEO strategy across complex organizations with multiple digital properties.
Track record of using insights and data-driven strategies to influence institutional outcomes.
Skills and Attributes
