Associate Account Manager

As a Fact & Fiction Associate Account Manager, you are the heartbeat behind the day-to-day success of the agency. You’re able to help drive the creative process forward by ensuring client and internal meetings are set, follow-ups are completed, and deadlines are met while beginning to build positive working relationships with clients and agency staff. You thrive in a team-oriented setting and are always looking to learn and grow. You love collaboration and know how to balance what’s best for the client with what’s best for the work. Ultimately, you’re the glue that keeps business, relationships and outcomes connected, and you take incredible pride in the collective impact we make for our clients.

We are open to candidates within commuting distance to Kansas City or Boulder, excited about collaborating in person two days per week in a hybrid working environment. We are not open to 100% remote candidates.

Can do this

  • Support the day-to-day execution of client projects under the guidance of the Account Manager, keeping everything buttoned-up and moving forward
  • Own meeting logistics and agendas. Deliver same-day recaps with clear action steps, owners, and timing to keep every stakeholder aligned
  • Partner closely with Project Management, keeping them looped on all client-facing communications and flagging timing, resourcing, or budget risks early with proposed solutions
  • Prepare polished materials for client meetings, including status updates, creative presentations, and performance recaps
  • Conduct research into client industries, competitive landscapes, and audience insights to inform strategic recommendations
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between creative, strategy, media, and production teams
  • Support billing documentation, monthly financial tracking, and budget reconciliation for your accounts
  • Identify organic growth opportunities within existing client relationships and flag them to senior leadership
  • Contribute to brand and business strategy discussions, bringing a prepared and informed point of view
  • Navigate ambiguity with composure — when things are unclear, ask the right questions and drive toward clarity for the team and clients
  • Anticipate what’s coming next on a project and prepare accordingly, rather than waiting to be asked
  • Maintain version control, organized folders, and quality checks on all deliverables before they reach clients

Must haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Advertising, Communications, Marketing, or equivalent professional experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in an advertising agency, digital marketing firm, or in-house marketing team
  • Comfort with a hybrid work model (in-office two days per week in Boulder or Kansas City)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%)
  • A bias toward action over perfection — you know when “done” beats “perfect”
  • Comfort adapting your approach based on how different teammates and clients work best

What sets you apart

  • Exceptional organizational skills and a natural attention to detail. You catch what others miss
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in both internal and client-facing settings
  • Experience working alongside creative and production teams in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. You don't wait to be told what to do next
  • Comfort with constructive feedback: you give it with empathy and receive it with openness
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Monday, Basecamp, or similar)
  • Content marketing experience is a strong plus
  • Genuine curiosity about brands, culture, and what makes people pay attention
  • A connector mindset, you instinctively pull the right people into the room rather than trying to solve everything yourself

What we give you

  • Interesting clients to work on – from Fortune 500 to fast-growing startups.
  • Generous holidays, including the week off between Christmas and New Year.
  • Flex PTO.
  • Strong health plans, 100% company paid health, dental, and vision.
  • Matching 401k.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Life Insurance.
  • A collaborative, no-ego culture where people genuinely have each other's backs

Base Salary: 45-55k DOE
