Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
Cruz Law PLLC is hiring highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorneys to join our legal team. Our firm specializes in the practice of immigration law. Ideal candidates possess strong oral advocacy, legal research and writing skills, as well as, an exceptional ability to multi-task and handle an active case load.

Summary of Duties:

-Manage an active caseload, with an emphasis on removal defense, asylum and special immigrant juvenile status under the supervision of an experienced attorney;
-Provide direct representation to clients in immigration court and state family court;
-Coordinate all aspects of a client’s case, including communicating with clients, conducting legal research, drafting declarations for clients and witnesses, preparing immigration forms and applications, drafting briefs, evidentiary submissions, motions and orders; and
-Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school;
- Must be admitted to practice law in the United States, preference will be given to those licensed in Virginia;
- Strong research and analytical skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience with legal administrative tasks, including document drafting and case management;
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities; and
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
