Associate Attorney

San Francisco, United States

Rogers Joseph O’Donnell, P.C., is seeking an associate attorney with an active California Bar license and 2-7 years of experience in litigation to work in the firm’s San Franisco office to support one or more of its practice groups.

Ideal candidates should be self-starters with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We are looking for candidates with solid academic credentials, excellent writing skills, strong analytical abilities with a consistent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with experience in litigating retail-trade, construction disputes, government contracts, or employment matters (especially wage and hour class and PAGA actions) are highly desired.

RJO prides itself on its inclusivity and the loyalty of its clients, attorneys, and staff.  Excellent lawyering, smart business-focused advice, and our collaborative team of staff and attorneys keep the firm successful and healthy and make it a truly pleasant place to work.  Associates are given client-facing opportunities early and often. This is the type of firm where becoming a shareholder is a realistic goal for those who show a commitment and dedication to their own professional development.

The firm has always taken a flexible approach on remote work for attorneys but also values the collegiality that is built by face-to-face interactions, as such, associates are currently expected to be present in the office at least three days per week.

The annual salary range for this role is $178,000 to $210,000 per year, with benefits (among other things, the entirety of an associate’s health and dental insurance premiums and 30 percent of the premiums for dependents, as well as bar fees and the CLE costs). This is the salary range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An associate’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications and business needs.

Associates are expected to work a minimum of 1800 billable hours per year to remain in good standing. Approved pro-bono work up to 100 hours and approved diversity, equity and inclusion work up to 25 hours will count toward 1800 billable hours target. Associates who work above the minimum billable hour requirement are eligible to receive the following hours-based bonuses:

1900 Total Billable Hours =  10 percent of base salary

2000 Total Billable Hours = 10 percent + 15 percent of base salary

2100 Total Billable Hours = 10 percent + 15 percent + 20 percent of base salary

In addition to hours-based bonuses, associates are also eligible for merit-based bonuses each year based on a variety of factors, such as achieving outstanding results for a client, contributions to the firm, and business development efforts.

Interested candidates should submit a resume by email to this job posting with attention to both Sharon Rossi, Associate Recruiting Chair, srossi@rjo.com and Tracy D’Ambrosi, Officer Manager, tdambrosi@rjo.com. Rogers Joseph O'Donnell is an equal opportunity employer.
