The firm, with its headquarters in in the San Francisco Bay Area, opened its Long Beach office in 2019 and now seeks to add talented and energetic Associate Attorneys with 3-5 years of insurance defense litigation experience.

The Southern California office is located on the beautiful Long Beach waterfront near Pike Place and Alamitos Beach, but the firm handles cases throughout the entire state.

Job Description:

As an Associate Attorney with KSM, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal matters, collaborate with experienced attorneys including several members of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and build your legal career in a thriving and exciting practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research/analysis to develop successful case strategies in civil litigation matters. KSM also handles a wide range transactional matters such as business formations, general counseling, and trademark applications.
• Draft and review legal documents, including discovery, pleadings, motions, and contracts.
• Represent clients in all court proceedings from case inception to appeal.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and fellow members of the firm.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members.
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends presenting opportunities and challenges to our clients.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to providing exceptional client service.
• Focus on law enforcement defense a plus.

Salary Range: $130,000+ depending on experience
