Associate Attorney

About the Company

Boyd, Richards, Parker, Colonnelli, a civil litigation defense firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate for its New York office. . The ideal candidate will have extensive commercial and/or real estate litigation and insurance defense experience , with a focus on Directors & Officers (D&O) liability, Employment Practices Liability (EPL), and Condominium/Cooperative (Condo-Co-op) law .

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) required.
• Must be licensed to practice law in New York .
• 8+ years of commercial litigation and insurance defense experience , including handling D&O, EPL, and condo-co-op disputes .
• Prior clerkship or trial experience preferred.
• Large law firm or specialized boutique firm experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Proven track record in complex commercial and/or real estate litigation and insurance defense matters.
• Experience working with corporate governing documents, including proprietary leases, by-laws, and house rules , and advising condo/co-op boards on governance and enforcement issues.
• Extensive background in contract and business disputes .
• Experience with AIA contracts, access license agreements, construction defect, and real estate-related disputes .
• Ability to independently manage cases , including written discovery, depositions motion practice, court appearances, and client strategy development.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to mentor junior attorneys and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
• Knowledge of ProLaw, iTimekeep and NetDocs a plus

• Professional office environment
• Hybrid schedule

Compensation & Benefits:

• The salary range for this position in New York is $145,000 - $275,000 , commensurate with experience in jurisdiction.

Schedule: Approximately 2000 billable hours expected per year
