Associate Attorney - Civil Defense

Johnson Hanan Vosler Hawthorne & Snider is a well-established and respected civil defense firm seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing team. We represent a diverse range of clients in various civil litigation matters, providing exceptional legal services with a focus on strategic advocacy and client satisfaction. Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Assist in all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, and depositions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Manage case files.
• Assist with trial preparation and attend trials as needed.
• Analyze and interpret complex legal issues.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments and case law.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Oklahoma Bar.
• 0-5 years of civil litigation experience preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience in medical malpractice defense or insurance defense is a plus.
