Job Overview
Wright Law PDX is a small Portland construction and property litigation firm, representing homeowners, contractors, and small businesses in Oregon and Washington. We pride ourselves on practical advocacy, thorough case preparation, and clear communication with our clients.

We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-directed, and eager to develop litigation skills in a supportive environment that values collaboration and professional growth.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of construction defect, contract, and property damage matters under direct supervision of Mr. Wright.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, and motions for state courts and arbitration matters.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, analyze evidence, and develop case strategies.
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and memoranda with precision and clarity.
  • Participate in depositions, mediations, and court appearance based on experience.
  • Prepare for and participate in negotiations with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Assist in trial preparation by organizing evidence, drafting discovery requests and responses, and coordinating with clients and witnesses.
  • Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members on complex legal issues while providing exceptional client service.
  • Stay current on evolving laws and regulations relevant to practice areas through ongoing research and professional development.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Oregon state bar and be in good standing (Washington Bar a plus).
  • 0-5 years of litigation experience (construction or real estate preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Strong negotiation skills demonstrated through previous experience or coursework.
  • Legal drafting expertise combined with attention to detail in all work products.
  • Ability to conduct thorough research and analyze complex legal issues independently.
  • Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration. This position offers a dynamic work environment where attorneys can grow professionally while making a positive impact on clients’ lives through expert legal counsel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
