Are you a recent law school graduate looking to work with experienced attorneys and paralegals who will give you opportunities to further your legal career? If so, we are looking for you! Our firm is hiring an associate attorney who will support us by conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have some courtroom experience and strong legal research and writing skills. $80,000 - $100,000 yearly plus profit sharing bonus. We offer medical insurance and 401k plan

Responsibilities:
  • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
  • Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
  • Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
  • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
  • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
  • Onboard new clients
  • Attend Meeting of Creditors for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13
  • Attend Court hearings
  • Communicate with clients
  • Communicate with the courts
  • Communicate with the trustees
  • Follow up with clients for documents
  • Review Petition and Schedules
  • Analyze clients' financial situations
  • Provide Solutions to Clients
  • Prepare Motions and Briefs
  • Willing to pursue a career in bankruptcy
Qualifications:
  • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
  • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
  • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
  • Successful completion of the bar exam
  • Experienced Bankruptcy attorney
  • Must be organized
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be willing to seek self-improvement
