Job Title: Education Associate Attorney (Direct Hire)

Location: Hybrid – California Licensed


About the Role:

We are seeking an Education Law Attorney with strong litigation and advisory experience for a direct hire position. The ideal candidate will have a background in handling matters related to K–12 or higher education, including student rights, special education, compliance, employment issues within educational institutions, and regulatory matters. This role provides stability, growth, and flexibility within a supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of education law matters, including student, staff, and institutional issues.
  • Handle all stages of litigation and administrative proceedings, including pleadings, discovery, hearings, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Advise and represent clients in mediations, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
  • Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, contracts, policies, and settlement agreements.
  • Provide guidance to educational institutions on compliance with federal and state education laws, regulations, and policies.


Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar license in good standing.
  • 2–7 years of experience in education law or related litigation/compliance matters.
  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and advisory skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases independently and work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.


Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $120,000 – $160,000 annually . Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
