We are seeking a highly capable associate attorney with experience in estate planning, probate administration, and/or civil litigation. The Associate Attorney will handle a mix of estate planning, probate and protective proceedings, and probate and trust litigation.
Responsibilities
· Manage dozens of active cases from intake through resolution with minimal oversight
· Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel
· Support senior attorneys in litigation practice, including conducting discovery, hearings and trials
· Collaborate closely with attorneys and paralegals to move cases forward strategically and efficiently
· Draft and file pleadings, disclosures, and written discovery
· Proofing and editing documents
· Draft mediation statements and conduct mediation with clients and opposing parties
· Conduct hearings and court trials
· Maintain accurate case records, notes, and track and satisfy deadlines
· Track all client documents on internal systems
· Manage billing processes, including issuing and editing invoices, tracking payments, and following up with clients for collections
· Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and ethics
· Draft, edit, review, and finalize estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, etc.)
· Guide clients through the probate and estate administration process with compassion and professionalism
· Attend client meetings (in-person and virtual) and provide clear, strategic legal counsel and recommend strategies
· Delegate work to paralegals and legal assistants
Requirements
· 1 to 3 years of experience in estate planning, probate and trust administration, protective proceedings and/or probate litigation preferred
· Colorado Bar License in good standing
· Strong knowledge of Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure and local court rules
· Prior experience in case management software, billing, and invoicing
· Self-motivated professional who can work independently and manage time and priorities
· Excellent drafting, proofreading, editing, and communication skills to craft compelling and accurate pleadings, communications, and persuasive writing
· Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex cases
· Ability to provide exceptional customer service and to build strong working relationships
Compensation will be commensurate with skill level and experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $83,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
