Associate Attorney

We are seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join our General Liability defense team in Miami, FL. This full-time position focuses on managing litigation files, providing strategic defense, and actively participating in courtroom proceedings. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of experience in general liability defense within a litigation-focused law firm, is licensed in Florida, and is prepared to handle cases from inception through resolution. This role offers hands-on experience in diverse general liability matters across the Miami legal market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of general liability defense matters in Miami, including premises liability, medical malpractice, HOA, assisted living, and long-term care claims.
• Review and summarize medical records and case documentation to support defense strategies.
• Draft motions, including summary judgment motions, and argue hearings in Miami courts.
• Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests and related motions.
• Prepare case evaluations, interim reports, pre-trial reports, and trial filings.
• Represent clients at mediations, arbitrations, court appearances, and trials in Miami.
• Proactively manage cases to ensure efficient progression through the litigation process.

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of experience in general liability defense litigation.
• Active Florida Bar admission required.
• Experience defending premises liability, medical malpractice, or similar claims preferred.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to draft complex motions and pleadings.
• Experience taking and defending depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
