Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Attorney to support high-profile development projects across multiple jurisdictions. The role is best suited for attorneys with strong expertise in land use, zoning, or transactional real estate law, along with excellent project management and client-facing skills.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare applications and supporting materials for zoning/land use matters (zoning changes, special exceptions, approvals, local ordinances, easements).
· Draft persuasive project descriptions, statements of justification, and conduct legal/code research.
· Direct and review work of technical consultants (engineers, planners, architects, environmental specialists).
· Prepare disclosure statements, affidavits, and ownership documents.
· Submit/monitor applications and liaise with jurisdictional staff throughout review.
· Assist with land development and subdivision approval processes.
· Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and stakeholders.
· Produce timely deliverables and maintain strong working relationships.
Qualifications
· Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
· Active State Bar membership in good standing.
· 4–5 years of legal practice in Virginia OR eligibility under Rule 1A:1 of the Virginia Bar.
· Experience in land use, zoning, transactional real estate, or related areas.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
