Responsibilities:

Case Management

• Manage personal injury cases from pre-litigation through trial or settlement
• Draft, review, and file legal documents including complaints, motions, and discovery responses
• Propound and respond to discovery (RFPs, Form and Special Interrogatories, RFAs, etc.)
• Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries, chronologies, and reports
• Maintain and organize case files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility

Litigation Support

• Represent clients in mediations, depositions, and court hearings
• Draft and argue motions including motions to compel, quash, and protective orders
• Prepare clients for depositions, mediations, and trial testimony
• Assist in trial preparation—drafting exhibit lists, trial binders, and jury instructions
• Attend hearings and depositions as needed (state and federal court)

Client & Team Collaboration

• Maintain consistent, professional, and confidential communication with clients
• Collaborate closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to meet deadlines
• Provide guidance and mentorship to support staff and junior team members

Compliance & Administration

• Ensure all actions comply with legal ethics, confidentiality standards, and firm policies
• Stay current on California and Federal Civil Procedure Rules and evolving case law

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active member, in good standing, with the California State Bar
• 3–5 years of experience in personal injury litigation (employment law experience a plus)
• Proven track record of managing a caseload independently and achieving favorable outcomes
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
• Excellent research, organizational, and communication abilities
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
