Position Overview

We are seeking a self-driven, highly motivated collections attorney licensed in the State of Texas to join our multi-state collections practice. Our firm operates in ten states, providing comprehensive legal collection services to a diverse client base. This is a fully remote position, ideal for an attorney who thrives in an independent work environment while remaining a proactive and collaborative member of a legal team.

The Texas collections attorney will be responsible for managing all aspects of assigned cases—from pre-litigation efforts to judgment enforcement—while coordinating with colleagues and support staff across multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, accountability, and a strong commitment to achieving client results with professionalism and efficiency. Additionally, the ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a solid understanding of Texas civil procedure, and the ability to manage cases independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and manage collection files from suit filing through resolution.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Appear (virtually or in person) for court hearings, mediations, and trials as needed.
  • Work with opposing counsel on contested cases.
  • Advise clients on litigation strategy and case developments.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including FDCPA and Texas consumer protection laws.

Qualifications

  • Active Texas law license in good standing (required).
  • 2+ years of experience in collections, creditor’s rights, or civil litigation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and local court practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a remote caseload.
  • Proficiency with case management software and electronic filing systems.
  • Additional state licenses is preferred but not required.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
