As an Associate Retail Buyer for Justice Cannabis Co., you will play a vital role in shaping our product strategy and enhancing the customer experience. You’ll be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, pricing, promotions, and inventory planning for Justice Cannabis Co. and third-party products. This position requires building strong vendor relationships to secure favorable terms and align with our customer and financial goals. This position is an in office at least 3-4 days a week role. This position can sit out of our Kedzie, Berwyn or Wells location.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with managing the full buying process, including product innovation, vendor negotiations, pricing, promotions, and coordinating inventory logistics to meet service metrics and financial goals.
Ensure all product strategies align with our customer experience objectives and operational standards.
Establish purchasing strategies with the Buyer to support product allocation across dispensaries, regions, and micro-markets.
Align inventory management and financial planning to optimize stock levels and service standards.
Analyze supply chain data, generate reports on product performance, and audit purchasing processes to uphold high standards.
Identify top-performing products and promotions while recommending improvements based on data analysis and providing that information to the Buyer.
Generate purchase orders, manage new product creation, and track credit memos.
Implement strategies for aging inventory and collaborate with suppliers to ensure consistent product availability.
Foster strong vendor relationships to negotiate favorable terms and deliver value to customers.
Team with Store Operations to create localized assortments, improve sales forecasting, and ensure product availability.
Analyze the competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and support cross-departmental projects.
Other duties as needed or required to meet company goals.
Travel will be required when needed.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with business acumen; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
4+ years previous experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or inventory management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to take initiative and solve problems
Time management and prioritization skills
Schedule flexibility when business needs exist
Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (strong Excel required)
At least 2 years of experience in inventory management, product planning, buying, merchandising, supply chain, forecasting tools, and/or assortment decision-making.
Strong data-driven decision-making skills with proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Confidence in negotiation and effective communication with vendors and internal teams.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently as needed.
Flexibility to travel to dispensaries or vendor sites as required.
