Associate Chief Nursing Informatics Officer -- VH IT Corporate Administration -- Northgate-400 Assoc

Job Summary

Integration of evidence based practice and research into clinical and operational processes. Analyzes, and interprets patient information systems data to improve nursing services and promote quality, cost effective care.

Responsibilities

• Administers technical support to clinicians, ensuring that clinical information systems are used appropriately and effectively.

  • Develops policies and procedures aimed at evaluating and improving clinical information technology.

  • Keeps abreast of developments in clinical informatics, comparing existing processes and protocols to top practice standards.

  • Assists with information system navigation and troubleshoots when problems arise.

  • Assist in advancement of nursing research; disseminate nursing research findings; incorporate evidence based findings into nursing practice.

  • Support and encourage Innovation in nursing practice; ensures nursing involvement workflow design and improvement to enhance nursing practice.

  • Assist in advancement/compliance with legal/regulatory/ ethical compliance

  • Community Healthcare Outreach

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.
