Associate Communications Specialist

Responsible for creating associate communications plans and materials for the enterprise designed to inspire, motivate and engage associates. Help associates connect to Our Purpose and business strategy through innovative, data-driven, strategic communications and storytelling. Amplify our company's and associates' unique stories to elevate our reputation as an employer of choice and spotlight the work of our teams and leaders. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.Minimum

• 2+ years of news writing or corporate communication experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to take a creative approach to strategic problem-solving, messaging and delivery
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
• Strong oral/written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Desired

• Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field
• 3+ years of corporate communication experience
• Any experience with media, social media and digital content development
• Graphic design skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Develop creative content about our company's Purpose and strategy that enhances Kroger's reputation through storytelling
• Develop and implement communication plans to support annual corporate fundraising events.
• Create and distribute emails and newsletters to associates
• Support and promote engagement events for corporate associates
• Collaborate with and support broader network of division/department communications associates to improve communication effectiveness and reach
• Write/edit content for a variety of internal/external channels, including print, web, digital, social and video scripts
• Evaluate/measure effectiveness of communications programs using results to strengthen planning/execution of future communications
• Support building management team to provide critical updates to associates promoting safety and compliance
• Support and moderate Kroger's internal business social network to help maintain an engaging, respectful environment for all associates
