Fundamentals is one of the key verticals within Company Data which Caters to clients engaged in equity research. The vertical is basically responsible for providing historical financial information on companies across the globe operating in multiple business segments. Financial information would mean making financial statements available as reported by the Companies on the products. This would require sourcing and updating Balance Sheet / Income Statement and Cash Flow Statements in the database which would eventually flow on to the products subscribed to by the clients. There would be key adjustments required completely be governed by internal policies of LSEGs products & services.
The entire content collection would need to be performed within the set timelines and with encouraged standards of accuracy.
To enable LSEG Data to service its clients by the operational management of resources, in order to deliver agreed services to specification, by running the operation efficiently and by being able to absorb and lead change at a rate consistent with overall business needs. Staff motivation, development and allocation will be ongoing challenges. Ensures that operational policy is set and followed by responsible team with the objective of producing the highest level of quality with the fastest time to market.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Process and maintain data accurately and in a timely manner onto databases using the database and financial knowledge.
- Ensure data accuracy, timeliness and completeness are maintained as per company standards
- Developing expertise in database and financial knowledge through continuous learning and development. Build up knowledge of financial regulations and market practices/conventions in relevant markets.
- Enhance usage of available tools/support to best of advantage to maintain/improve content quality during daily operations
- Adhere to dynamic process/MoW changes, data operations standards and current data policies & procedures.
- Responsible for delivering high productivity and quality data as per expected performance standards
- Proactively identify, escalate and resolve data problems
- Communicate & liaise with internal and external departments for resolution of data queries as per established process
- Test new database/application releases where appropriate, providing expert user feedback.
Technical /Professional Skills
- Should have a good understanding of basic accounting concepts
- Sound knowledge of financial management concepts
- Should have awareness about the financial statements. Should know what these statements mean, what all components do they have etc
- Should be proficient in using MS-Excel
- Should have good keyboard skills
Soft skills and other competencies
- Should be a very quick learner and should display a high level of agility.
- Should have good interpersonal skills – written and verbal.
- Should be able to work under pressure and flexible to work extended hours depending upon business requirements
- Should be flexible enough to work in different shifts at different points in time and this would include night shifts
Certifications / Education
- Any Bachelor's or Masters’ degree with basic accounts and financial knowledge
