What does this role do at HCPro?

HCPro's intelligent, interesting, and dedicated team of content specialists are expected to generate amazing articles, charm busy healthcare professionals into sharing their tips and best practices, keep tabs on regulations important to readers, and work with their editorial, marketing, sales, and customer service colleagues to create and support innovative tools that help industry professionals comply with challenging regulations.

This position will be remote with occasional travel to company-sponsored events. The associate content specialist writes, edits, researches, and manages projects for a wide variety of publishing mediums. With time, this individual will become a subject matter expert in the clinical documentation integrity (CDI) market as part of the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) editorial team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, and format engaging content for a wide range of mediums, according to strict standards of quality, style, and voice.
  • Work closely with regulatory specialists, expert sources, and freelancers to ensure all content meets HCPro's editorial standards.
  • Upload relevant content to applicable web properties through the content management system, and ensure content displays and functions correctly.
  • Cultivate sources and develop relationships with existing sources to produce content that is accurate, relevant, and of high value to our readership.
  • Meet frequently with editorial, production, editorial services, and marketing staff to discuss projects and resolve problems.
  • Propose new product ideas and work to bring new ideas to market, including conducting customer and market receptiveness research and project managing the development and launch.
  • Conduct market surveys, focus groups, and routine customer research to determine the needs of customers and the driving forces affecting them.
  • Maintain and grow the brand's social media presences.
  • Travel, as needed, to both company-sponsored events and industry events, and represent the company in a professional fashion, including cultivating sources, answering or fielding questions about products, conducting industry research, identifying partnership and growth opportunities, and introducing speakers from the podium.
  • Serve as content lead for assigned newsletters, including developing story budgets, managing source development, identifying newsworthy stories, editing submitted work, and ensuring all production deadlines are met according to strict guidelines.
  • Develop and record short interview-style podcast episodes with industry experts.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with ability to juggle and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability in time management, multitasking, and project management.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others.
  • Ability to think critically and logically, classify content, and apply taxonomy.
  • Comfortable with some degree of public speaking at conferences and other live events.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience in writing, reporting, or editing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite products (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Premier, etc.) preferred.
