Position Overview
The Associate Design Consultant is an entry-level, client-facing role designed as a structured pathway into Interior Design while supporting the needs of a veteran Design Staff. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong sense of style and retail experience who are ready to expand into interior design.

During the training period, you will partner closely with Design Leadership and experienced Design Consultants to develop:

• Luxury selling and clienteling skills
• Interior design fundamentals and spatial planning
• Product knowledge across custom furnishings and décor
• Digital design tools and presentation technology

Schedule Flexibility:
This role may be structured as full-time or part-time, based on business needs and candidate availability.

What You’ll Do
Client Experience & Sales

• Deliver an elevated, luxury retail experience—welcoming clients, building rapport, and identifying lifestyle needs
• Provide design guidance for accessories, accents, and select furniture pieces
• Support sales transactions including custom and direct-ship orders
• Promote Ethan Allen’s complimentary design services

Design Support & Development

• Assist Design Consultants with projects, including:
• Space planning and product selection
• Preparing presentations, renderings, and quotes
• Participating in in-home consultations
• Stay current on trends in interiors, fashion, and color

Business & Operations

• Manage client communications (appointments, follow-ups, order updates)
• Utilize POS and design technology systems
• Support showroom presentation, merchandising, and inventory
• Maintain organization of samples, materials, and client files

Team Collaboration

• Partner with Design Consultants to transition leads and appointments
• Contribute to a dynamic, team-oriented sales environment
• Participate in training, events, and marketing initiatives

Growth Path
This role is designed as a developmental position with the goal of promotion to Design Consultant (timeline may vary based on performance and business needs).

• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays

Compensation

• $25–$27/hour, based on experience
• Monthly performance-based incentives
