Associate Director

“To provide mediation and dispute resolution services as an alternative to court litigation.”

Try Mediation is not a part of the Eau Claire County Government. It is a non-profit agency that provides mediation services to a six-county area in Western Wisconsin.

Mediation is a conflict resolution process where an impartial third party (the mediator) assists those in conflict to explore a mutually beneficial resolution of their dispute.

The Associate Director works in partnership with the Executive Director to support the vision and direction of the organization. The Associate Director supports all programs and daily operations.

This position will work closely with County Courts to work with parents in paternity and divorce filings to assist parents with child custody and placement plans.

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Location: Hybrid

Salary: $51,000

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree with administrative/supervisory experience or any combination of

education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

· Ability to attend mediation training & obtain certification

· Ability to maintain confidentiality

· Empathetic and ability to maintain impartiality

· Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience working with Microsoft 365 products (word, excel, etc.)

· Experience working with video calling software (Zoom)

· Professional experience in facilitating mediations in the areas of family, small claims, or

financial

· Understanding of the dynamics involved with domestic violence and the effect it can

have on families

Responsibilities:

Leadership:

· Assist in the achievement of goals for the organization

· Support all staff and volunteers as needed

Customer Service:

· Answering phone calls, email, and returning messages in a timely manner

Programs:

· Research and update the Families in Transition curriculum

· Provide Families in Transitions classes every other week

· Scheduling appointments with multiple parties

· Write Parenting Agreements and other court memos

· Assist with small claims & evections proceedings as needed

Administrative:

· Schedule Families in Transition classes & communicate with attendees

Other:

· Meet with the board of directors as needed

· Other duties as assigned by the executive director
