The Associate Director, Data Architecture will lead the design, implementation and management of enterprise data architecture ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and security while meeting regulatory requirements. They will drive transformational change in architecture practices and management.
As an Associate Director, Data Architecture, a typical day might include the following:
Defines and manages the data architecture standards for IOPS IT and documents all architecture design and analysis work.
Design evolvable data architecture for bio-manufacturing operations.. Consults with application and infrastructure development projects and products to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the data architecture.
Works closely with the product owners and product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements.
Leads the definition of the principles, guidelines and standards emphasizing modularity, API-first design, and cloud-native approaches. Ensure solution and/or integration decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.
Lead the governance activities associated with ensuring architecture assurance and compliance. Create governance frameworks accommodating future requirements.
Creates reference architectures focused on detailed design principles, decision points, detailed APIs, major systems and dependencies between business and IT.
Develop enterprise data models and reference architectures.
Lead architecture reviews and provide oversight for major initiatives.
Consults with application and infrastructure development projects and products to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.
Ensures As-Is and Target Architectures are documented and maintained.

Drive continuous improvement mindset within direct report team and identify areas within IT where they can leverage or share best practices
In order to be considered for this position, you must hold a BS/BA in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field with 10 years of relevant experience including 10+ years experience managing IT projects & 10+ years hands-on experience with one or more technology solutions plus 8+ years in an Architecture role. May consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
