Job Overview
The Associate Director, Digital Growth & Innovation leads the strategy, investment planning, and performance optimization of BNP Media’s digital audience growth initiatives across its portfolio of brands, with a focus on scalable audience acquisition and conversion.
This role owns digital growth performance end to end, including budget allocation, channel strategy, and ongoing optimization of campaigns, user journeys, and conversion experiences. A key responsibility is developing and executing a rolling 24+ month roadmap of initiatives, experiments, and investments to drive sustained audience growth and subscription revenue, with direct accountability for performance across BNP’s paid subscription brands.
The Associate Director also plays a leadership role in advancing BNP’s digital growth capabilities by identifying new opportunities, improving channel efficiency, and optimizing paywall and regwall strategies.
In addition, this role partners closely with the Audience Development team, serving as a strategic advisor across the broader brand portfolio. This position includes one direct report.
Responsibilities
· Develop and implement a comprehensive audience revenue growth strategy, balancing both new subscriber acquisition and retention efforts.
· Formulate and optimize marketing plans aimed at acquiring and retaining subscribers.
· Identify opportunities to improve conversion rates and renewal rates through targeted campaigns.
· Drive growth for paid subscription revenue streams across BNP’s paid titles by refining pricing models and promotional strategies.
· Develop and execute pricing and retention strategies to improve customer lifetime value and reduce churn.
· Partner with finance and operations to forecast subscription revenue and manage marketing expenses efficiently.
· Lead the execution of a multi-year digital marketing roadmap, focusing on paid subscriber growth and retention.
· Oversee digital acquisition and retention campaigns across email, paid media, social, SEO, SEM, and on-site engagement tactics.
· Optimize renewal touchpoints and customer journey flows to increase retention rates.
· Analyze response rates, churn, LTV, and performance to continuously refine strategies.
· Maintain financial tracking reports and work with the Operations Manager to reconcile acquisition and retention expenses.
· Establish and track KPIs for both acquisition and retention, delivering actionable insights and performance reporting.
· Work closely with content, events, webinars, and other internal teams to leverage cross-promotional opportunities for subscriptions and renewals.
· Monitor industry trends and competitor strategies in subscription growth, pricing, and customer retention.
What Makes You a Great Fit for This Role
· Proven experience owning digital growth performance, including budget management and channel optimization
· Strong understanding of digital acquisition, conversion funnels, and lifecycle optimization
· Experience managing and optimizing paid media and digital marketing investments
· Demonstrated ability to improve website conversion, paywall and regwall performance, and user experience
· Experience developing and executing growth experiments and scaling successful initiatives
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and decisions
· Ability to work cross-functionally and influence teams without direct ownership of execution
· Experience with subscription, paid audience, or recurring revenue models preferred
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
