ASAP supports motivated students earn an associate's degree within three years. The program emphasizes enriched academic, financial, and personal support, including comprehensive and personalized advisement, career development, academic support services, funding for tuition and textbooks and MTA OMNY cards. Reporting to the Director for Recruitment and Program Support, the Associate Director is responsible for engagement programs, support services and operations for over 6,000 students.

  • Responsible for the supervision of Academic Support Services, Career Development, Engagement, Financial Aid, and Operations
  • Supervise recruitment, onboarding, training, timesheet processing, and semester schedules for part-time staff – coaches, tutors and mentors. Serve as liaison to Human Resources.
  • Create structures to track student participation and evaluate program impact
  • Supervise the development and implementation of academic and engagement interventions to support the retention of at-risk students
  • Guide the implementation of academic, professional and personal engagement initiatives to promote student success
  • Collaborate with the Advisement and Recruitment teams to support the goals and priorities of ASAP
  • Cultivate professional relationships with college partners to advance engagement strategies for students
  • Supervise and coordinate communication campaigns for students
  • Responsible for front desk operations and staff
  • Supervise the distribution and accounting of all OMNY cards
  • Responsible for the tracking and distribution of programming materials and office supplies
  • All other duties assigned by the Director

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required including two years of supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's preferred with related experience
  • Experience with program development and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience with staff supervision and training
  • Ability cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, staff, and faculty
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency managing multiple tasks and achieving strict deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Access and Excel) with an aptitude to learn new systems as needed
  • Weekly late nights as needed

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) helps students earn their college degree as quickly as possible, by removing the financial, academic, and personal obstacles that many students confront. Key ASAP program features include a consolidated block schedule, cohorts by major, required full-time study and comprehensive advisement and career development services. Financial incentives include tuition waivers for financial aid eligible students, yearly textbook vouchers, and MetroCards for all students. Further information is available at www.cuny.edu/ASAP.

Reporting to the ASAP Director, the ASAP Manager is responsible for the daily administration of ASAP program activities.

  • Establishes semester block programs and manages and schedules all other academic support activities such as tutoring and workshops

  • Supervises planning and implementation of ASAP summer programming, including summer course taking, workshops, and the ASAP summer institute, and other special student activities

  • Assists Financial Aid, Registrar, and Bursar in evaluating student eligibility, finalizing registration, and verifying tuition charges

  • Assists the ASAP Director with required reporting and collaboration with other college units

  • Monitors and assesses data reports on a regular basis to ensure movement towards ASAP success benchmarks and to determine student support needs

  • Oversees advisement and delivery of comprehensive support services to ASAP students

  • Supervises professional and support staff

  • Performs related duties as assigned

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary range is $102,408 - $113,982. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
