ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF SALES & EVENTS

The Associate Director of Sales & Events (ADOSE) is a senior-level leadership role supporting the Director of Sales, Marketing & Events in driving revenue performance and leading the Sales, Event Sales, and Event Planning teams. This role also oversees the administrative support team and manages a designated group sales market, maintaining key client relationships and generating group business for the hotel.


The ADOSE position is designed as a developmental leadership opportunity with the goal of preparing the individual for a future Director of Sales, Marketing & Events role within Hyatt.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a designated group sales market, including prospecting, account management, and securing group business for the hotel.
  • Maintain key accounts and build strong client relationships within assigned market segments.
  • Assist in the leadership, mentorship and daily management of the Sales, Event Sales, and Event Planning teams, as well as administrative support staff.
  • Participate in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of sales and events professionals.
  • Lead departmental meetings and support cross-department collaboration.
  • Contribute to the annual business plan, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Analyze reports and performance metrics to identify opportunities for revenue optimization.
  • Participate in revenue optimization discussions and ownership meetings.
  • Support systems training and ensure accurate use of sales and event systems.
  • Represent the hotel through community involvement, networking, and relationship building.
  • Serve as acting Director of Sales, Marketing & Events in the Director’s absence.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated passion for delivering exceptional guest and client experiences in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Hotel Group Sales or Event Sales
  • Proven leadership capabilities and ability to mentor and motivate teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and general computer systems.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
  • Service-oriented leadership style with strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Geographic mobility preferred for future leadership opportunities.
  • Hospitality or Hotel Management degree preferred.
