Job Summary
Report to Executive Director of Auxiliary Services. Position develops, executes, and supervises comprehensive parking system for campus students, staff, visitors, patients and faculty. The position collaborates closely with divisions within Commuter Services, University of Utah stakeholders and affiliated partners, and external vendors, to deliver a high-quality parking and transportation experience for the campus community. Key responsibilities include permit sales division, customer information center, participation in long-term infrastructure and permitting planning, budget management, asset management, regulatory compliance, and supervision of staff. This position plays an important role in the customer experience on campus.

Responsibilities
- Direct assigned aspects of parking operations, including asset management, maintenance, and repairs.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Meet regularly with campus stakeholders to share/learn relevant parking and transportation information.
- Participate as assigned on campus committees/stakeholder groups representing Commuter Services.
Financial management
- Create, monitor, and manage operating budgets associated with permit operations, information center, and parking garage leases, in coordination with the Associate Director of Business Services.
Compliance and risk management
- Ensure that all parking and transportation operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including ADA standards.
- Mitigate risk by overseeing safety and security programs for parking and transportation.
Team leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff, providing coaching and regular performance feedback.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment for all employees.
Strategic planning and project management
- Manage and communicate to stakeholders, impacts from construction and renovation projects, helping to ensure alignment between auxiliary facilities and campus customers.
- Stay informed of national trends and best practices in parking and transportation to inform departmental strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT :
1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, or a related field.
8 years of professional experience in construction management, project delivery or business with higher education organizations. (or Masters Degree plus 6 years of directly related work experience)
Strong collaboration skills with experience working across multiple departments or business units to coordinate deliverables.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
A proactive, self-motivated work style and interest in representing the University in community settings.
