The Mower Performance Marketing team is looking for an Associate Director, Organic Social, who will be responsible for defining, elevating and leading Mower’s organic social media discipline across clients and specialties. This role functions as the agency’s senior organic social strategist and subject matter expert, ensuring brands show up with cultural relevance, consistency and purpose across social platforms. This role focuses on organic content ecosystems, community building, editorial voice, platform-native storytelling and brand engagement. The ideal candidate understands how organic social drives affinity, trust and long-term brand equity, and knows how to integrate seamlessly with PR, creative, influencer, media and analytics teams to maximize impact.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Organic Social Strategy Leadership
- Leads development of comprehensive organic social strategies aligned to brand positioning and business goals.
- Defines content ecosystems including channel roles, content pillars, editorial calendars and community engagement frameworks.
- Establishes voice, tone and brand behavior guidelines specific to social platforms.
- Guides always-on and campaign-based organic initiatives.
- Ensures content is platform-native, culturally relevant and designed for conversation, not just distribution.
- Identifies organic social growth opportunities within existing accounts and partners with account leads to expand scope.
Content & Editorial Direction
- Oversees development of editorial calendars and publishing frameworks.
- Partners closely with Creative and PR to shape platform-specific storytelling approaches.
- Guides real-time and reactive content strategy tied to cultural moments and brand opportunities.
- Advises on influencer and creator collaboration from an organic integration standpoint.
- Elevates short-form video, emerging formats and new platform opportunities.
- Owns strategic alignment and creative direction for organic social content, partnering with Creative team for concept development
- Responsible for refining executions and ensuring platform-native excellence.
Community & Brand Engagement
- Establishes best practices for community management, conversation strategy and engagement guidelines.
- Ensures brands participate authentically in conversations, trends and communities.
- Guides crisis-sensitive responses in partnership with PR and account teams.
- Helps clients understand how social behavior influences brand perception.
Measurement & Insight
- Defines success metrics appropriate for organic social including engagement quality, audience growth, brand health indicators and share of conversation.
- Partners with Analytics to develop reporting that surfaces insights, not just activity.
- Translates social listening, audience behavior and cultural trends into actionable brand recommendations.
- Uses organic performance insights to inform creative, messaging and channel strategy.
Integration & Collaboration
- Works closely with Paid Social to ensure organic and paid efforts are strategically aligned but operationally distinct.
- Collaborates with PR to amplify earned moments and ensure consistent brand storytelling.
- Partners with Media and Strategy teams to define the role of organic social within broader marketing ecosystems.
- Participates in client workshops, brand positioning sessions and annual planning processes.
Capability Building & Agency Leadership
- Develops consistent processes, briefs and standards for organic social across the agency.
- Identifies innovation opportunities in platform features, creator partnerships and content formats.
- Shares best practices and thought leadership internally and externally.
- Contributes to new business efforts by shaping organic social POVs and presentations.
- Establishes scalable workflows, review processes and resourcing models to support efficient organic social execution across clients.
- Sets team standards, provides performance feedback and ensures consistent quality and strategic rigor across accounts.
- Directly manages and develops a small team responsible for organic social execution across Performance Marketing and PR client engagements.
Educational Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field preferred
- 7+ years of experience in social media strategy with significant organic leadership experience
- Agency experience preferred

Salary Range: $86,500- $138,000 annually
- Salary differential is based on seniority, merit, education, training and experience.
