Job Summary
This position is responsible to analyse comprehensive impact of financial crime related regulatory matters on the relevant business area and its operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Providing governance and oversight over the implementation of Financial Crime Compliance related policies and procedures in Country to ensure compliance with such policies and procedures
  • Support relevant stakeholders to make decisions based on current and possible future policies, practices and trends on the interpretation and application of regulatory expectations
  • Execute activities as part of the Financial Crime Post Investigations & Counter Finance Terrorism Desk team (including but not limited to Quality Control Outcome reviews for Act, Quality Assurance reviews, Controls Checks, Health checks)
  • Provide advice to relevant stakeholders on compliance with Group standards relating to Financial Crime Compliance related matters.
  • Perform Public domain search for identification and reporting of terrorist incidents/ attack to the Head Post Investigations.
  • Ensure Financial Monitoring Unit queries are addressed timely complying with the provision of information.
  • Provide advice on the application of risk management frameworks
  • Apply Group and Financial Crime Compliance policies and processes (Anti Money Laundering surveillance, client screening, risk assessment) to manage risks.
  • Inform senior management of any regulatory breaches (or where risk tolerances have been breached) and ensure that actions are taken quickly to remediate and/or activities are ceased.
  • Support line manager in conducting Country risk assessment.
  • Map risks, quantify the potential impact and escalate where necessary.
  • Provide intelligent input (where applicable) to support calibration of bank’s Risk Methodologies (including aggregate client risk, product risk and country risk assessments).
  • Understand technical aspects of systems relevant to Customer Due Diligence, Client Risk Assessments, Name and Transaction Screening, Anti Money Laundering Monitoring and Case Management.
  • Ensure timely completion of the Post Investigation (follow up) actions related to Transaction Monitoring/Name Screening cases as and when these are assigned.
  • Align/support with the alignment of relevant systems and controls to industry best practice and close out any compliance gaps
