Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of general dental procedures including examinations, cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, root canal therapy, extractions, and prosthodontics.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking and interpreting medical imaging, and evaluating oral health status.
- Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses and treatment plans effectively with patients and team members.
- Ensure all patient care activities comply with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Maintain precise medical records and documentation of treatments performed using electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols rigorously to prevent cross-contamination during procedures.
- Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral health maintenance, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral wellness.
- Stay current with advancements in dentistry by participating in ongoing training related to pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics, and other specialties as needed.
- Assist in dental fabrication processes when necessary and ensure the proper handling of dental materials and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety standards related to medical terminology usage, medical records management, and infection control practices.
Requirements
- Korean/Spanish speaking dentist is a plus
- Valid state licensure as a General Dentist with eligibility to practice in the designated area.
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic or dental office environment with familiarity in Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix software systems.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), prosthodontic procedures, and oral surgery techniques.
- Proficiency in pediatric dentistry principles and providing compassionate care for pediatric patients is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs thoroughly and communicate treatment options clearly.
- Knowledge of infection control standards including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently within a team practicing four-handed dentistry for optimal patient outcomes.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations governing medical documentation and patient privacy protections.
- Strong organizational skills for managing medical records accurately while maintaining compliance with legal requirements.
