Annual Salary: $53,597

What you will do:

  • Conduct quasi-judicial hearings with interested parties and their counsel: places witnesses under oath, questions witnesses to ascertain pertinent facts, sees that the hearings are properly recorded, admits or excludes evidence, and facilitates the cross-examination of witnesses.
  • Prior to hearing, review the Division exhibits and documentation submitted by the parties and make necessary preparations to address the issues pertinent to the hearing.
  • Prepare written decisions, or orders, applying pertinent provisions of the law and following established precedents.
  • Study precedent decisions in similar cases as a guide for making decisions.

All you need for success:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of professional experience in the programs subject to the administrative hearing review. (Substitutions may be allowed).

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.


Desired Attributes

  • Prior participation in administrative hearings.
  • Possess a familiarity with an unemployment insurance system.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures
