About the Team and the Role:
The Corporate Legal Team at Ather is responsible for end-to-end legal management for the company, spanning contracts, regulatory affairs, corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, and dispute resolution, to keep our operations aligned with all applicable laws.
This role is for a legal counsel who can deliver high-quality strategic and operational legal services and counselling in all areas of law that will support business and growth objectives and protect the organization’s rights, interests, and reputation
Responsibilities:

Draft, review, negotiate, and finalise complex contracts and agreements relating to business, sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, R&D, and other organisational activities.

Support new business development initiatives as needed, including negotiation, drafting and execution of documents.

Design, implement and enforce company policies, legal SOPs and playbook to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in India.

Take ownership and operate independently in delivering legal services with a sense of urgency, reliability, practicality and personal skills compatible with building trust with stakeholders.

Manage disputes and litigation matters and coordinate with external solicitors. Working effectively with external counsels and monitor their performance.

Work effectively with stakeholders and provide day-to-day advice on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate, competition, privacy, data protection, employment, real estate, marketing, branding, consumer protection, EHS, cybersecurity, motor vehicles and other applicable laws and regulations, and govt. policies and initiatives on EVs in India.

Ensure legal risks are identified, assessed, evaluated, and mitigated on time through proper strategic and management action plans, as necessary.

Contribute and bring outside-in perspective to the functioning of Corporate Legal by handling complex matters independently while showing judgment and teamwork by raising and discussing issues of corporate importance to ensure a consistent approach.
Experience and Qualifications:

LLB/ LLM from a reputed premier university with work experience between 4-6 years in reputed corporations or law firms.

Exposure to the automative or manufacturing sector is highly desirable with an understanding of the agreements pertaining to the commercial, sales and marketing functions within automative companies.

Expertise in commercial law, corporate and business law.
