About the job:

The Red Hat Customer Content Services (CCS) team is looking for an Associate Manager to join a global team of technical writers in India. In this role, you will work with your peers around the world, implementing our strategic initiatives to develop customer-centric content that supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux needs. Ideally, you should have experience leading teams in a high-tech, fast-paced environment combined with technical writing experience and a passion for improving the customer experience. As an Associate Manager, you will play a crucial role in guiding the work and direction of the team to create content that is technical, engaging, and easy to use.

What you will do?
  • Partner with documentation program managers and content strategists to ensure that project needs are met to satisfaction
  • Motivate your team to be fully engaged and productive by ensuring, that each individual is given appropriate, challenging assignments that contribute to team and departmental goals
  • Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to increase the capabilities and effectiveness of your team, to develop the competencies of team associates, and to ensure that they are meeting the goals and expectations of their roles
  • Develop understanding of customer needs and company goals in order to organize and coach the team to effectively meet those goals
  • Ensure that proper staffing levels are provided for the teams as development demands grow and new lines of offerings are added through continual discussion and assessment with the documentation program managers, content strategists, and CCS management
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to hire and onboard new team members who align with team, department, and company values.
  • Coordinate with your peers around the world to ensure global collaboration and consistency in the carrying out of content tasks
  • Coordinate with our Content Strategy team and your global peers to implement our strategic change initiatives through your team's daily work
  • Shape and support collaboration efforts between technical writers and customer-facing technical associates from Global Support Services team and other field teams

What you will bring?
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading people in a collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated record of improving internal or external customer experiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to collaborate with teams from other regions of the world
  • Experience with and passion for guiding change and continual improvement
  • Experience with creating and evolving technical content in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux space
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing LLMs (e.g., Google Gemini), as relevant, for tasks such as brainstorming solutions, deep research, summarizing technical documentation, drafting communications, summarizing complex technical information, and enhancing problem-solving efficiency across the development lifecycle.
  • Bachelor's degree in technical communications, IT, business, or a related field is a plus
