Associate Manager, Global Communications

Develop and lead internal and external strategic communications strategies, campaigns and processes across employee, consumer and restaurant industry audiences. Drive Pizza Hut brand engagement, , strategy awareness, employee engagement and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will leverage exceptional writing skills, strong interpersonal relationships, an ability to manage multiple responsibilities, and potent intellectual curiosity to provide support and strategic vision for all internal communication touch points. The person in this position will sit on the Global Communications Team and frequently work with cross-functional partners.


Key Responsibilities:

Internal Communications (60%)

  • Partner with the Director of Communications to plan and execute internal communications projects to support the brand and leadership agenda.
  • Support traditional communication efforts and day-to-day messaging needs – including drafting newsletters, internal announcements, change communications, meeting recaps.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of internal communication campaigns from concept through execution, including planning, content development and distribution via internal platforms.
  • Identify, hire and manage outside vendors to collaborate on projects, as needed.
  • Partner with key communications contacts to help build communications and engagement capability across global markets.
  • Support the planning and execution of quarterly Town Hall meetings (hybrid and in-person), including content development and event management.

External Communications (40%)

  • Partner with the Director of Communications to shape and tell Pizza Hut’s global business story externally.
  • Support the development of Pizza Hut’s global communications strategy that leverages PR, social media, executive visibility, corporate communications, owned channel content, etc.
  • Draft and edit a wide variety of external communications content, including key messages, press releases, LinkedIn posts, brand editorial, etc.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for global communicators during global brand activations (i.e. coordinated product launches across multiple markets or global campaigns / partnerships) to ensure consistent brand messaging.
  • Help manage global issues and crises, partnering closely with global market contacts and Yum!’s Issues Management & Crisis Response team to protect the reputation and minimize risk for Pizza Hut around the world.
  • Maintain Pizza Hut’s Global Crisis Core Team lists and support crisis preparedness training and simulations as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of business experience including leading projects and/or teams; experience working in communications, public relations or journalism.
  • Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills, including the flexibility to adopt different voices and tailor messaging to different stakeholders.
  • Proficient in AP Style.
  • Ability to write in various tones, including business, organizational change, employee engagement and functional topics; experience with storytelling through varying channels; excellent presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing communications strategy and processes.
  • Exceptional capacity for organization, project planning, working to meet specific timelines and deliverables and regularly communicate progress against goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interface with stakeholders in a way that builds confidence and demonstrates accountability - focus on customer service with a keen sense of urgency and commitment to executional excellence.
  • Expert problem-solver adept at finding better ways to develop and manage processes.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, fluid environment with multiple projects, tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, time management and planning skills.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and highly collaborative attitude.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, communications or related field.

Salary Range: $96,700 to $102,420 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
