Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly and quarterly close for private credit funds, including preparation and review of the general ledger, trial balance, and supporting schedules;
- Oversee the preparation of schedules to support the general ledger balances reported in the financial statements;
- Communicate directly with the General Partners and respond promptly to their requests to provide them with the information they require;
- Review and approve accounting for loan originations, purchases, sales, and paydowns, including trade date vs. settle date considerations where applicable;
- Oversee the calculation and recording of interest income, paid-in-kind (PIK) income, original issue discount (OID)/premium accretion, and amortization
- Interact with auditors and provide them with reports/support to assist them during the audit;
- Ability to multi-task between different tasks, client deliverables and internal demands throughout the day;
- Review borrowing base reporting and lender compliance deliverables where funds utilize subscription lines, warehouse facilities, or leverage structures;
- Understand and interpret fund governing documents (LPA, credit agreements, side letters)
Qualifications
- 3 – 5+ years’ (relevant) experience in Accounting or related field;
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field;
- Advanced degree (MBA or MSA) in Accounting or related field strongly preferred;
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strongly preferred;
- Strong technical knowledge of private credit instruments and related accounting concepts (e.g., interest accruals, PIK, OID/premium, amortized cost vs. fair value
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of FIS HFPM or other partnership accounting software a plus;
- Ability to multitask, time management, attention to detail, planning and problem-solving skills required;
- Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and oral communication with current and potential clients and;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle/manage multiple team and individual priorities and deadlines.
