The Associate Medical Director, Medical + Science Solutions, will provide leadership and expertise in content development, aligning with clients and experts, and drive the strategic direction of the product. S/he will develop content of high quality across an account and proactively recommend additional tactics. S/he will also coordinate project plans and resources in collaboration with Client Services and Project Management, and work to ensure timely and efficient achievement of project milestones. The individual plays a critical role in managing client and physician satisfaction and relationships. S/he will support the development of the team and optimization of team operation. S/he may develop and lead a team to meet capacity requirements on accounts. In addition, this role is responsible for support of business development and pitching for new clients. All MSS roles directly support clients through content generation and strategy.
Client & Team Interactions

Serve as a scientific expert and strategic partner to clients

Provide scientific and tactical expertise during pitches, meetings, and discussions with client and team

Oversee Account: In collaboration with CS, monitor and direct work within an account for efficiency

Independently create high quality content, execute exceptional research to support internal and external endeavors

Serve as MSS lead for designated projects: create content and manage assigned tasks

Build relationship with clients through regular and consistent engagement on calls or in meetings by being proactive and solution-oriented

Collaborate with project management and client services to support internal timelines. Ensure work is executed within budget and on time. Anticipate and discuss with team members if/when there is an out-of-scope risk

Train and manage SMWs or freelance to operate within Brightly values and processes

Ensure capacity is met as directed by manager and proactively reaches out to manager or team members to support when under capacity

Business Development

Provide scientific and market guidance and support in writing scientific portions of proposals
- Conduct research and identify key strategic imperatives for pitches and/or proposals

Present ideas and solutions leveraging Brightly capabilities during pitches

Collaborate with Client Services regularly to discuss tactical needs and future planning

Identify key areas of need and discuss solutions with CAT lead

Advanced terminal degree in biomedical sciences, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 years of work experience in an agency, the pharmaceutical industry, or a related scientific or medical writing position. 1–2 years of recent experience leading medical communications accounts in oncology and/or hematology and at least 1 year of recent strategic experience in oncology/hematology. Demonstration of success in pitching new products to potential clients.
