Associate Product Engineer

Job Description

As an Associate Product Engineer at Genesis Products, you will be supporting customer needs by creating detailed 3D CAD models, 2D specification drawings, and CNC programs. Additionally, you will create nested programs for the CNC routers for the production team. This position requires experience in AutoCAD 2D, Inventor or SolidWorks 3D modeling, and CNC tool-path software (such as Alphacam). The ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment is essential for success in this role. This position focuses on hands-on engineering support, nesting, and production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD designs and detailed drawings
• Develop CNC tool-path programs and nesting layouts for CNC routers
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, ensuring products are fabricated and assembled per design intent
• Review and evaluate proposed engineering changes for feasibility and impact
• Inspect manufactured parts for compliance with design specifications
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production teams to resolve issues quickly
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering, Drafting/Design, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D; experience with Inventor or SolidWorks 3D strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with CNC tool-path software (e.g., Alphacam); CNC programming experience a plus.
• Ability to interpret shop drawings and production orders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback.
• Skilled in using calipers and other precision measurement instruments.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work on the production floor as needed.
